5 Must-Read Books About Hot Sex & Healthy Relationships

On the top of my new year goals list is ‘read more’…so I’ve done some research and chosen five books about hot sex and healthy relationships that I’m going to tick off my reading list in the first half of 2016.

Sex For One: The Joy Of Self-Loving - Betty Dodson

For more than 20 years, Betty Dodson has been dedicated to taking the shame out of masturbation, showing it to be a healthy form of sexual expression. With warmth and intelligence, and informative line drawings, Dodson explains how anyone can learn to fully enjoy the pleasures of self-love, pointing out that masturbation is still the safest sex.

Sex At Dawn: How We Mate, Why We Stray and What It Means For Modern Women -  Christopher Ryan  & Cacilda Jetha

In this controversial, thought-provoking, and brilliant book, renegade thinkers Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha debunk almost everything we know about sex, weaving together convergent, frequently overlooked evidence from anthropology, archaeology, primatology, anatomy, and psychosexuality to show how far from human nature monogamy really is. In "Sex at Dawn", the authors expose the ancient roots of human sexuality while pointing toward a more optimistic future illuminated by our innate capacities for love, cooperation, and generosity.

The Ethical Slut: A Roadmap For Relationship Pioneers - Dossie Easton & Janet W. Hardy

The essential guide for singles and couples who want to explore polyamory in ways that are ethically and emotionally sustainable. For anyone who has ever dreamed of love, sex, and companionship beyond the limits of traditional monogamy, this groundbreaking guide navigates the infinite possibilities that open relationships can offer.

The Sacred Prostitute: Eternal Aspect Of The Feminine - Nancy Qualls-Corbett

The ancient connection between spirituality and passionate love has in modern times become lost to the depths of the unconscious, leaving a broad sense of dissatisfaction and boredom in relationships. When the Goddess of Love was still honoured, the sacred prostitute was virgin in the original sense of the word (one-in-herself), a person of deep integrity who welcome for the stranger was radiant, self-confident and sensuous.

Betty Dodson My Sexual Memoir: From Monogamous Wife To Sexual Explorer To Feminist - Betty Dodson

America's Most Honest Memoir Betty Dodson's memoir is the story of one woman's struggle to liberate female sexuality while enjoying her own. In the 70s, as the feminist movement evolved, focusing on various platform issues including equal pay and voter registration, Betty latched on to sexual liberation as a symbol for self-empowerment. Realising that so many women weren't enjoying sex, she asked, "How could women ever be truly equal if they were reliant on men for their sexual satisfaction?" She quickly became the leader of the sex-positive feminist movement. And the rest is history
